Q: I sporadically receive timeouts from the iol-master-appl

The timeouts usually look like this: 

[16:37:36 WARN ] iolink_dl_handle_error: Reception timeout: 9f

followed by a reconnect or connection loss.

A: Raise the realtime level of the iol-master-appl

The issue comes from too low priority for the communication between the stack (iol-master-appl) and the MAX14819.

To raise the realtime level, you need to set the parameter -i, allow cpuisol on your device, and run the iol-master-appl with sudo. The details are described here: Command Line Timing.
