The IOL HAT Pro provides a hardware interface for the exchange of data with smart SDCI sensors and actuators (IEC 61131-9, brand name IO-Link®, referred to as IOL in this manual). The IOL HAT Pro works as a plug-in module for Raspberry Pi®1) using a 40-pin GPIO connector. It features the Analog Devices/Maxim MAX14819 Dual IO-Link Master Transceiver with Integrated Framers and L+ Supply Controllers.
In addition, the IOL HAT Pro can power the Raspberry Pi through the 40-pin GPIO connector with 5V which are generated from the 24V input.
Information on the MAX14819 can be obtained here:
Two SDCI interfaces are available per IOL HAT Pro, up to two IOL HAT Pros can be connected to the Raspberry Pi via stack-through connectors.
A GPL-licensed sotware that is maintained by Pinetek Networks provides the software functions and is available for download. Please note that this software is not part of the scope of delivery of the IOL HAT Pro, and the IOL HAT Pro can be operated with other IO-Link stacks as well.
